I really enjoyed the lecture on intertextuality as i realised it is something that i do all the time with out realising and i am sure everybody does,it covers so many forms , like films , models , books and so on ...my main interest is in models and films the way it is used. first of models it would be used all the time as models are usually made of something weather it is a small version of a building or a character, or something completely different the main point that it would have been modelled from something. and then when you look at the model most of the time you no it is a model and what the model is of. this fascinates me as i find it strange how the human brain does this without us even realising. then you can go on to films and the way other films include parts used in other films for example the planet of the apes old and new one feature the same line, this is used all the time , not just in films cartoons as well as the simpsons always uses famous quotes and other famous characters that we pick up on before it is even suggested.

so with all this in mind i wanted to pick a particular topic and talk about it for a bit.

New minis

i picked the film "italian job" the reason why i chose this film was because there was the original version which was a very popular film at the time and still is today, and then they made a new version of it which also still is a popular film. however they made changes to the new one, as in properly the most famous part about the movie would be the 3 minis that where in the 3 different colours well they still used the 3 minis however they where the new mini coopers and therefore where different but you still new what the cars where without it suggesting it. the size difference in the cars was also rather different as the whole point of the first movie was the cars sizes as they where small cars that could get into the tiny gaps that normal cars couldn't which made them perfect for the bank jobs, the new cars however are still small but not as small which made you think well are they still going to be as good , but what they did in the new film was had motorbikes riding around which are obviously smaller than a car and still couldn't go the places the mini could. Overall what im trying to get to is that the cars are different and the the actors and the story line itself is changed a bit but you can still relate it to the original film rather easily all they had to do was put a poster up of the 3 cars and every1 new it was the italian job , they have also used the cars in adverts and people new the same that it was relating to the film so therefore i see this film as a good example of intertextuality.
