We had a seminar on 3d affects and how it affects a film....we used avatar as a example and however it is an amazing film in terms of the looks ...but does the 3d have a massive affect on it . Most of the film is green screen including the main characters, personally i think the 3d and the animation combined does add some kind of not realistic feel , even so theres not many 7ft plus blue people running around ...just the concept of how brightly coloured and smooth texture adds some kind of not realistic feel.
But then there is the other side that a lot of people found the film so realistic that they became depressed and wanted their lives to be as good as the avatars and ended up killing themselves over it , so then that makes me think because we analyse the film do we look for faults and make ourselves pick up things and choose not to watch the film with a open mind and then does animation and 3d really have a good affect on the cinema today.
